The voice in my head

Illustration of man with lots of thoughts in his head

Hello everyone. It’s been a while. I just checked my blog and discovered that my last post was back in January 2019! Wow.

A lot has happened in the past year. There were epiphanies and transformations and deep, deep exhaustion (these things are not unrelated!).

I will explain everything soon, but before I do, I just wanted to say this:

When I blogged in the past, it was because I felt an urge to get what I was thinking out onto the page. I used to feel this urge A LOT. But then I started juggling way too many things…

I ran out of steam. I ran out of time. And I ran out of things to say. Result: The urge packed its bags and went on holiday.

For a year. (Sorry.)

However, the good news is that the urge has come back with a vengeance! The you-should-write-a-blog-post-about-this voice is now louder than ever. I don’t know what it was doing on its year off (doing a silent mediation retreat, possibly?) but seriously, it will not shut up.

VOICE: “You should write some blog posts about all the cool stuff you learnt last year.”

ME: “Go away. I don’t have time to write blog posts.”

VOICE: “What?! How long does it take? Seriously. You should share some of your ideas about imagination and intuition… imaginition, ha!”

ME: “Tra la la la laaaaaa. I’m not listening to you.”

VOICE: “Hey, you should definitely share that new visualisation technique you made up. Listen, I even have the opening line of the post. This is how it will start…”

VOICE. “Oooh, you should write a blog post about telling your voice to shut up! Yes! Now we’re cooking!”

ME: “!?#&!@!!!!!! I can’t cope.”

Welcome to my brain. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I have given in to the voice in my head and I am returning to the world of blogging. Hurrah!

Thank you so much for sticking with me over the past 12 months. I’d love you stick around a bit longer; my voice and I have things to say. I’ll explain all over the next few days (and then the posts will return to a more leisurely weekly or monthly schedule).

It feels good to be back 😊
