So, I have done my first ‘photo shoot’ (i.e. roped J into being my model for the day).
This was an interesting experience.
I have never done photography before. And I don’t have a clue about f-stops and apertures. (Primarily because every time I try to read the SLR ‘User’s Manual’ I get a serious case of brain freeze and the manual may as well be written in Hebrew.)
As a result, the camera is always set to ‘auto’. And I steer clear of photography unless I am in ‘holiday snapshot’ mode.
Until now, that is. Because, genius that I am, I have chosen a photography project for my 30 Day Challenge. And by the end of the month, I have to produce at least two interviews and photos of ‘people who have found their spark’.
So I need to get over this fear pretty damn fast.
I’ll keep you posted…In the meantime, here are some images from my first ever portrait photo shoot (camera set to ‘auto’, naturally):
(OK, I admit it, I fiddled with some f-stop doo das for the last one)…
I’m impressed! Great composition for all the shots and I think a lot of us start on Auto.

Nice photos! You have a good eye, and your subject looks very relaxed, which is half the battle when you’re taking portrait photos.

Thanks Julia, I really enjoyed myself (and J got into it after a bit of coercion!)
