Remember those sketches I did the other day? Well, I have now added some shapes to one of my canvases and I thought I’d share it with you so you can see how it’s developing.
This is the 6th or 7th layer of paint (I’m beginning to lose track!). The next layer is due to go on tomorrow.
This layering business is completely new to me. It’s serious fun BUT it does require you to let go of what’s been before. A few years ago, I’m not sure I would have been able to do this. You really have to trust that ‘something’ is happening and it will all come right in the end.
Up until now, every layer has looked ‘interesting’ but nowhere near a finished painting I would put on my wall. This one isn’t finished either but I think I can see something emerging at last…
