This is me in the Lake District. (Is it me or do my arms look abnormally long?) I am on top of Fairfield, a 2863 ft mountain. We had to rely on our slightly dodgy compass skills to navigate as the mist was so thick we could only see a few metres in front of… Continue reading The simple life

Swamp water curry
Last night I achieved an incredible feat: I managed to make a curry that didn’t actually taste of anything. This was amazing considering the ingredients: 4 cloves of garlic, 3 onions, fresh ginger, copious spices (coriander, cumin, chilli, star anise, garam masala), fresh coriander, tomatoes, cauliflower and chickpeas. But no, it tasted of cauliflower boiled in… Continue reading Swamp water curry
Celebrations (and brain mush)
I did it! Last weekend I handed in my hypnotherapy diploma – 68 pages of blood, sweat and tears. Over 21,000 words in total. I can’t remember the last time I worked so hard. It was a relentless round-the-clock effort with 6.15 starts and 11.00pm finishes, and as for the Jubilee bank holiday…what Jubilee bank… Continue reading Celebrations (and brain mush)
Trying too hard?
I had a telling dream last night: I dreamt that a singer from The Voice (which I watched last night) sadly died during the night from a heart attack. In my dream I heard the news and was immediately concerned it was Tom Jones (I have a soft spot for him). It turned out it… Continue reading Trying too hard?
I’d like to feel this serene
I took this photo of a woman doing Tai Chi on a beach inWest Sussex.I could do with some of her serenity right now. I am googly-eyed from spending all day staring at the computer screen studying for my hypnotherapy diploma. My brain is frazzled and it’s refusing to cooperate. I don’t think I have… Continue reading I’d like to feel this serene
Bad clothes day
I went to the hairdressers yesterday and when I laughed at something the hairdresser said as she was cutting my hair, I noticed there were definite wrinkles around my eyes. Quite a few of them in fact. Good grief! (I have just read ‘Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas’ – for research purposes you understand – and… Continue reading Bad clothes day
A blissful day
We’ve just come back from the beach. It was a glorious day. We drove down with the roof down (me: attractively fully togged up in hat, scarf and gloves.) J made us a bacon and egg roll for breakfast… Then we went for a walk and passed these beach huts… We stopped to watch some… Continue reading A blissful day
Hello, I missed you
Um…several months appear to have sneaked past when I wasn’t looking. My last post was over 2 months ago - I am officially A Very Bad Blogger! But I have my reasons: Something is up. Things are in the air. The planets are aligning...I have ‘plans’. That's all I can cryptically say for now. More to… Continue reading Hello, I missed you
I’ve been living the wrong life
Last week I did a sketch of my ideal life. This is it: Before I launch into an explanation (not that it really needs any; my ideal life obviously consists of me, my caveman husband and two cute children, staring out to sea whilst a book flies over our heads) can I just say that… Continue reading I’ve been living the wrong life
Wobbly moment alert
Last weekend, during the second module of my Hypnotherapy Diploma, I had a major wobble. We were learning about Time Lines, where you regress someone back along a line that represents their life and reframe a negative event from their past. @”&*#^#!”!! I really struggle with this kind of thing. Seriously, it makes me cringe. It was then that the… Continue reading Wobbly moment alert
